Established in 2006, Game Haven Lodge is a privately owned game ranch situated within the Private Chimwenya Game Park, 212 ha in size. The Lodge has been the realization of a dream that started in the 1980’s. Game Haven is exactly as the name suggests - it is a haven established to provide a luxurious experience for tourists while conserving Malawi’s wildlife.  Its location near of Malawi’s busiest cities makes Game Haven a welcoming gateway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The family-owned Lodge has a variety of rooms, both luxury, standard and self-catering guest houses, including 7 free activities guests can partake in. With 15 years of experience in hospitality under its belt, Game Haven continues to work tirelessly to create a unique retreat within Malawi which also supports surrounding communities in Bvumbwe.

Conservation Highlights:

  1. Donating trees to the surrounding schools, communities, and villages in Bvumbwe.
  2. We are working with Vision for Development Youth organization to implement COVID-19 safety measures and continuous donations of hand sanitizers, face masks, and so forth.
  3. Reforestation of indigenous tress within the surrounding 212 ha park.
  4. Protection of 8 different wildlife species within the entire park, including giraffe.
  5. Educational game drives and talks with schools within Malawi.

Future Aims:

  1. To start an environmental learning programme where we take school groups from our surrounding communities for free educational game drives; and also, to teach about the importance of nature and tree conservation.
  2. To introduce more wildlife species while relocating our surplus species to other conservation areas in Malawi.
  3. Expand our rooms into the park, so as to give tourists a modern and rustic experience.
  4. To continue and expand our various community development projects.
  5. Introduce more giraffe and a breeding program to increase numbers within Malawi.
