Kasbah du Toubkal is the number one property of choice for comfortable hotel accommodation in the village of Imlil and the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Kasbah (at 1820 metres altitude) is just 60 kilometres from Marrakech and set on a hilltop 100 metres above our reception in Imlil town.

It is a 15-minute walk for guests to reach the hotel - mules carry your luggage. Kasbah, situated on 1.5 ha of land, is also located in the Toubkal National Park and set dramatically below the towering flanks of Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa standing at 4167 metres.

Imlil, and its surrounding valleys, is a world apart from the bustle of the city and a place of peace and seclusion. The award-winning unique hotel offers fourteen comfortable en-suite rooms, three of which can be used as a private self-contained house. In addition, there are three family rooms.

The delightful garden and large terraces offer unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains. Our friendly and knowledgeable local Berber team will make every effort to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as it can be. We offer trekking packages including stays at our Trekking Lodge and the ascent of Mount Toubkal which can include a riad or hotel stay in Marrakech and Essaouira.

Conservation & Community Highlights:

  1. Through Education For All, we provide an opportunity of a secondary education for girls from the rural High Atlas Mountains: www.efamorocco.org
  2. Through the village association, funded largely by Kasbah du Toubkal with 5% levy, we run a rubbish collection system for the area.
  3. Through the village association, we provide an ambulance service.
  4. Through the village association, we provide a communual Hammam (public baths).
  5. We ensure mules welfare by working with SPANA.

Future Aims:

  1. We want to improve the rubbish recycling system.
  2. We have an idea of setting up an extention to the Kasbah hotel, to be operated by the young women who have attended secondary school through our EFA educational program. Currently, few women work in the area and we want to influence progressive change.
  3. Set up a pepinere to grow indigenous trees that can be replanted out into the Toubkal National Park. We were working on this pre Covid-19.
  4. Continue with research into the Bearded Vulture Project in the area which we have already started.
