ROAM PRIVATE GAME RESERVE has been set up to create a safe haven for wildlife to enjoy the open space of the Karoo, South Africa. Steeped in history and diverse wildlife, the game reserve encompasses more than 5000 hectares of pristine veld. ROAM is now a sanctuary for many of the species which historically roamed the vast plains of this region.

Our aim is to restore iconic Karoo species to the landscape and set up projects that allow visitors to view these special creatures in their natural environment.

Conservation Highlights:

1. EWT Cheetah Metapopulation project
2. Solid Earth Meerkat rewilding
3. Bird ringing in collaboration with SAFRing

Future Aims:

1. Reintroduce Black Rhino (Bicornis minor)
2. Monitor Aardvark behaviour and adaptations
